So will this disrupt (temporarily at least) the inverse correlation between the USD and the stock market?

I am assuming Gold will continue in its meteoric rise. . .but at a quicker clip.

94849It appears there is a lot of justifiion out there about how it is not going to affect the bond markets too much. Ie/ / Japan's downgrade is employed as a precedent, there is discussion of hedge funds may only utilize Fitch and Moody's ratings (only two are required ), and my favored what else is there.

Certainly however this is a landmark, almost a paradigm shift in an extremely worrisome direction. I'm extremely keen to see just how EUR USD and AUD USD pairs respond Gold surely hasn't priced this in.

94849Finally the US was downgraded also.

I read an article that showed that the US is in relative terms much worse off than greece, should you count in every expenditure the US has (and isn't shown in the national budget). At least the rating agencies in america finally downgraded their particular nation.

    Took some time.

US cannot be in a worse condition than Greece because they issue their own currency which also happens to be a world reserve currency.

94849Btw, good news for those who shorted treasuries on Friday. Perhaps surprise for some.

Anything is possible in five decades. But yes, I concur that dollar is gradually losing it's reserve currency status.

SP - Moody's met with some of the Congress and warned of this

Result from Congress and the President

More Money More Spending basically no cuts to speak of

A Leader could have made a speech which Said.

    THIS CONTRY WILL NOT DEFAULT.

    What Does Obama Say

You may not get paid we may default

Quite reassuring to the entire world markets.

This guy doesn't have any executive experience He is a community organizer and a professional campainer.

I didn't know Jimmy Carter had a boy

But Who or What's the response

    nobody I Can see

Large problems for the US right now

That was my head too... I was shocked when I saw this lot efficiently take their own country hostage with their danger to set off an economic nuke when their president insisted taxing, or closing taxation loop holes designed to help the rich.

That I find it amazing they have a debt ceiling that is separate from budgeting process at all. It's just like a family voting to buy a TV and then if they are going to pay the bill when it arrives voting later. Surely if a parliament passes a funding they are agreeing to cover the future bill for this?

Once I saw that spectacle on the news websites I believed if I were China I would be very careful about placing my money there later on...

I really don't receive the Tea Bag Party, it's just like the French revolution in reverse with a bunch of people who do not have very much demanding those who already have heaps be given more, at their expense when need be.

    Strange country the USA...
