Dont even consider going wihtout stop loss otherwise market will teach an extremely painful lesson earlier or later.
That is simply BS, sorry. Those statements can only come from higher targeted intraday traders. Should you trade long duration with low leverage (and 10:1 is NOT low leverage!) There's not any need to use difficult ceases BUT of course you need to have an exit egy for poor trades.

    What do you think?

George soros, or traders significantly less popular than him...
Ya, effective losers don't use stop shed.

I feel that it'd take an ultra edued trader to be able to trade without hard stoplosses even if they were only set up as a crisis SL.

Such traders do exist and there are even some on this forum.

However, I feel that for the ordinary trader without a SL, he will be effective....until he is not.

I understand a few traders that never use stop losses.

The ch is they know exactly where they will exit the trade or that which piece of news or fundamental advice will signal it's time to exit a situation. In other words, they care more about the risk side of this equation than the benefit aspect of the equation.

The majority of the traders that I know who do not use stops are individuals that are trading in markets in which the size they're trading is a considerable section of the daily market quantity. In other words, unless you have another way of protecting your capital, a stop loss is a necessity.

Would you not set a stop loss?

The concept of a stop loss is that at the point you do not consider your transaction or analysis to be appropriate therefore you reduce your loss.

It also defines your risk... which as a trader, you're supposed to be managing, right?

I use them seldom on account of this imitation breakouts in FX. It would be great if you could set a stop like when the price closes(!) Beneath the support at the daily, close the trade. As these orders are not possible, I do it manually.

I've choosen to present a new way to exit rather than stop loss. Get the pips of past 5 winning trades, remove the smallest as well as the lowest, and average the remainings, then divide by two. With this, I am in profit even with 40% winning trades. It worked well on backtest, attempting to check this on ahead.
