Thread: Sessions Indicator

  1. #1
    Hi,

anybody willing to modify this indior to bring the US and London sessions?

    Other modifications:

    1) some logic to maneuver the description text into the top or bottom of this chart (depending where the bars on the chart are) rather than in the middle since it is currently. Or just simple the choice to have top/bottom/middle.

Another concept is to switch off the vertical tag and have the session title within the pip range.

    Asia
    ------
    133.6

    2) The vertical line starts from the top and bottom of this candle/bar and I was wondering whether it could be offset by a 1/4 inch from the top and bottom so that it leaves some space between the upper and bottom of the bar. OR another option is to have the vertical line only be as high as the top and bottom of the session range.

    Thank You.

Forex Market Hours GMT v2.3 - LATEST VERSION
(Always check on to end of thread for latest version. It is possible to search each thread page by Forex Market Hours GMT.)

NEW: Past versions were Winter only.
    This now includes four modes:
    Winter (regular time),
    Summer (DST),
Winter style that matches forum's Sessions chart, and
Summer style that matches forum's Sessions chart.

The forum / Oanda.com difference is only at the Sydney session.

Examine the notes at the Inputs section of Properties, this will tell you how to set the style easily.

Sessions are local 8 AM - 5 PM, except Tokyo 9-6 which seems to be a standard, and except Sydney in FF style.

Some sessions will be inaccurate for the weeks between US DST change and Sydney DST change. This could take a LOT of coding to make automatic, which I will likely not do in my free time.

    Winter:

    Summer:
    All transferred except Tokyo.

    forum uses Oanda's session chart.
OANDA is sourced primarily because they are the only major broker to release such data, and their listed session times are the generally accepted view.
    -FF User Guide

They maintain Sydney opening right at the conclusion of New York. However this means they are showing the Australian session beginning at 7 AM at Summer, 9 AM Winter, Sydney time. There may be a trading motive for this. If someone can provide me a very good, legitimate reason why this is so, I'll appreciate it. Although I wrote to Twee at FF and to Oanda, and they both replied (thank you), they did not tell me why. 1 theory: it retains some traders online if there's absolutely no apparent sessions gap.

Matching the FF sessions screen as to relative start and end times, looks like this:

    Summer - FF

    Winter - FF

Notes: This indior looks very great on a Hi-Def course screen, for example 1920x1080. It looks less great on a lower resolution screen, but still usable. It has not tried on a 4K course monitor.

    ,
    Glad you like it.

Where would the reddish time lineup go?

The good news isthat you just need to place Forex Market Hours and/or Market Panel Clock on a single chart, as you won't need to look at it once an hour. You can take a chart only for them.
Instructions are in previous posts and in Input settings.

Firstly no doubt its great work done by Big Be, Love your participation and dediion.

There is however ways to improve the indior, I do hope u take it as a comments not a kind of putting your work down.
Firstly I do need to agreed on's thought more, since

It better shows/capture which market create which candle motion
thus it better anticipate price movement before the opening/entering a specific market session.

An order to make this indior I know there's some difficulty to be fix, here are my proposal:
Red line is that the time factor thus this could easily be solve by moving price candle itself.
It will be best if the session in is thought is clickable highligthing the candle thus showing the feasible space for price to move before the session ends(maybe a vertical line/a rectagle) Something similar to FF market session only we aren't confined to the pairs FF offer or even the TF.
I have see if you expand the original indior to match H1 TF it may work but the restriction is that its only applicable to H1 TF.

I am not a coder but contact me in case you face any difficulty I'll be glad to indicate any solution, I am not sure If You're Able to PM me or maybe coz I dont knw why I cant appears to PM anyone here in FF but you can hit me at email address deleted by staff

Heya guys, would it be possible for someone to modify the sessions v1.9 indior to make it only display just one session?

I've attempted blanking the start/end times for 2 of the 3 sessions but it sometimes shows incorrectly, so I would like to remove 2 sessions and maintain the single session.

Is this possible? I know this is an old thread so if anyone can help that would be great...

    Cheers!
