Thread: CCI 50 System

Let me say first, this isn't original with me.

I took it straight from Dr. Bob's method for Emini futures.

Dr. Bob used to be a routine around Woodie's CCI Club as much as I know, he devised this method.

I do not believe I've ever seen it seen it employed to forex earlier.

It appears to work really well- better than it does with futures. The breaks across 0 are a lot cleaner using forex.

The charts I'm revealing are GBP/USD 15M. Although it looks good on all time frames.

There are three types of entrance signals.

These will assume a very long entrance. Short entrances are the reverse.

    1. CCI 50 crosses above its Zero line. The CCI 14 must also be above its line and price must close above the 34EMA.

    2. First Zero Line Reject following the CCI 50 crosses above zero.

The CCI50 has crossed above zero. Either the CCI 50 or CCI 14 drops under 100 and shoots up.

    3. Slingshot- The CCI 50 is above its line.
The CCI 14 drops under -75 , moves upwards and crosses zero.

Exits are up to you. Dr. Bob couldn't make his mind up about when to exit either. The entrances are great.

The loser on the best of the chart is really a news pub, which I would not have traded anyhow.

This was the move of the day along with a nice commerce on the euro using this technique. The vertical dotted line is that the entrance along with another dotted line that is vertical would be that the exit on the first reversal candle. That was a nice trade for approximately 70 pips. I usually move my stop loss to breakeven after I receive about ten pips in my direction. Theni'll get out in the first reversal candle. I can get at least a 1 to 1 risk to reward ratio. Paris

Just how long have you been trading this method? I ask because I've dabbled in the past couple months with all the 50CCI but haven't been able to dedie as much time as I wanted. Interesting note: Dr. Bob has moved from CCI altogether and is trading on a whole other plan today (along with his pyramid scheme).

What span / pair is that chart using? It would be intriguing if an EA may be composed with these few rules in mind. For backtesting purposes of course...

I haven't traded FX with it. I have traded Emini Russell using it.

    What I posted was a 15M chart- GBP/USD.

Here's a 1H chart- it looks even better.

    - any other principles. . You utilize

what # of pips do you go for?

Try using the Super Woodie CCI indior. It's simple to discover. It is possible to set the 2 CCIs collectively in same window as a 50/14...

    The MA is a 34EMA.
Its used for its Cross Zero entrance.
As soon as the CCI 50 crosses zero to the upside, the CCI 14 should be over zero and price needs to close over the 34EMA for there for a very long entry.

The reverse for a short entry.

There are no rules other than the ones I listed in my first post.

I haven't traded Foreign Exchange on this. Emini Russell has been traded by me. With futures two contracts opened. I had an initial SL. I exited one contract at 7 ticks profit (the amount of the SL) and set the 2nd to break even.

Another I played by the seat of my pants. I used some of Woodie's CCI patterns to depart. Mostly just instinct- not good:--RRB-

This could ne an extremely effective system if it had clearly defined exits.

    The entrances are extremely accurate.

1 Attachment(s) I tried the 50CCI out also it's good, although at that time I had been 3min/15min/60min taking hinges with consent of the 50CCI based on where it had been about the hourly TF. Ideally you take a setup on the 3min as long as it's supported or supports a move on the 15min TF and the hourly CCI allows the transaction (above 0 for Indices and below 0 for shorts etc, cant take longs when hourly 50CCI is below 0 etc). That installation did give you lots of chop in the event that you simply took each signal about the 3min and werent cautious, however moving into a greater multiple TF combo or really sitting on ones hands on the 3min and only taking the top setups would improve the hit raiot a lot. 5034, 5034z, 5014, /-100 bounce etc all work very well, but do a lot of systems depends on who's driving it . 50CCI remains a favorite of mine however. For goals or stoploss and, the CCI setups can be used by you. If your entrance was a 5034 long, then you might depart when that 5034 fails, 50CCI closing below 0 etc.. 50CCI closing below the 100 lineup is another example, if this had been a 100 bounce then. Also targets you may use the last swing high to low which shattered on state the 5min TF and depart at 126.2 or 161.8 or the 34 EMA on the next/higher TF. Additionally if the 76.8 on this swing does not break when you receive a CCI setup/entry, its potential warning sign that it could possibly be a dud installation.
