Thread: Time offset for this indior

Hi guys, I recently obtained this indior.

My broker uses a gmt 3 timezone. What is the setting I use for the Start hour function?

Australia has only recently just begun daylight saving also, Do I want to factor this in as well?

    Thanks .

My br0ker (Pepperstone) is also GMT 3.

The time in Australia is immaterial. All you need to think about is (1) your br0ker's TZ (GMT 3), and (2) what time of day that you want to use as the beginning point for your pivots (which depends on your trading egy).

For example, if you would like your pivots to start from midnight in New York (currently GMT-4), then that's 7am in your br0ker's TZ, hence you would need to place the StartHour to seven. Or if you would like your pivots to start from 5pm New York, then that's midnight in your br0ker's TZ, hence you would place StartHour to 0. And so Forth.

My br0ker corrects their TZ to GMT 2 when New York ends daylight saving (on the first Sunday in November New York reverts to GMT-5), hence their MT4 consistently remains 7 hours ahead of New York. You'd want to ask your br0ker whether they do similarly; or even, then you would want to recalculate your StartHour setting so.
