I anticipate fireworks next week if the Federal Reserve further raises interest rates. Being new to the FX can anybody advise me on what to expect? I am assuming that the EUR/USD will be down (due to dollar upward ) along with the DXY0 dollar index will be up.

In the past when (and how) does the F.R. create the announcement and how quickly does the EUR/USD respond?

Any information will be appreciated. This is my first time with all the FX plus a F.R. announcement.

How will the market react if the growth is as priced I.e 25 bp? Will be very volatile movements or just periodic rise/fall in usd

In addition, I have a question. The market appears to be ranging and emotionless and I guess in anticipation of the Feds announcement Thursday. I know Vegas at some point said they do not open new positions before news statements and probably meant in the hours before the announcement, but using this Major announcement, if you take the place of standing aside this week until after Thursday - rather wait and see?

depends on your risk appetite. The market well follows techs before the a major annoucement. (earlier = 1 week). I personally don't open any places a day or two before a major annoucement

The dollar moved in anticipation of the rate increase. . .It moved against Virtually All currencies....Don't be surprised if you Find the dollar falling following the FOMC meeting....Only expect fireworks when the Feds raised the rates a 50 basis points (That is highly unlikely), or if they never produced an increase, because this is so unexpeced by the market...

    Thanks,

    Nader
