It gives you the feeling of what's the trend of this market.

They can also provide you a good notion of just how far a pair my decline or accend. A lot of times every pair may have a tendency to lose strenght at particular moving averages.

To begin with, its debatable whether moving averages have any value.

Second, every year is different for each pair, therefore the top moving average will differ from year to year.

Third, each interval suffers from the exact same randomness as mentioned in the previous sentence.

You'll realize that over time, virtually all technical analysis can be replaced by using your eyes. You do not require a moving average to show you a trend has been up or down recently.

alhadi, We have talked about this before here. The search function is a superb way to find lots of info.
Which moving average is the 'correct' one??
It doesn't work that way. If you want to use the more prevalent ones, then you could look at the 200 ema or sma. 55ema is very popular, therefore is 21 ema.

The thing is, one doesn't work better than the next, it has more related to which ones you're used to looking at. Enjoy your homework.

I like to believe that I've tried absolutely everything with MA's. I find it to be an very inaccurate (doesn't demand mean unprofitable) instrument whereas the number you plot in infrequently means anything ranging from 10-500. Sooner or later, price is likely to find s/r at any MA you could place.

    Here's a film with 3 random numbers; 123, 321 and 666 SMA. Sounds fantastic doesn't it
