Thread: Technical and Fundamental trading

Hello everybody. I have started my Currency Market trading career after years of research and development. I am pleased to report things are going alright, but there is still much more room for advancement. My egy yet is purely technical and apart from filtering large news, I don't look at fundamentals

I'd like to understand if this is something I must really look to improve, and if I can use fundamentals to filter bad transactions? I havent considered this before as I am more of short term trader using medium sized renko charts.

    Thanks to your help guys

It is okay to follow specialized analysis. There are many traders who only follow technical analysis like you are doing. It is about how good you are doing with it. If you wish you can learn fundamental analysis also. Nonetheless, it's not a mendatory for the time being. You may go with specialized analysis.

Hi and welcome to trading. I am a long-term Currency Market trader so news events do not make much immediate impact on my trades - most awful news comes out through downtrends, many good news during uptrends, its rare to find some unexpected or planned news that reverses a trend overnight.

However, if trading short term, the volatility and widened spreads around a news event could be enough to prevent a good trade out or to trigger a opening order on a bad trade. My advice would be to never exchange intra-day. However, in the event that you have to, I hear from many successful intra-day traders who close their trades or tighten their stops about news events.

I would like' read anything on fundamentals and do not take them into account on placing entry orders or stop-losses.
