Thread: MT4 Candles and BID/ASK levels

We are aware that BID is the foundation for the MT4 candle's Open, Low, High, Close levels. And since Close is the last price, common sense dictates that it follows the current BID price, ie, last CLOSE price = BID price.

Nevertheless in my monitoring with a broker, I understood that this is NOT the situation. I observed the BID/ASK price of this broker works independently of the CLOSE price of the last BAR. Ie, BID not equal CLOSE

    What exactly does this imply?

It means, that you thought price never hit your stoploss by judging about the chart's OHLC amounts, but it really failed - invisibly!

Regardless of, complaining it with your broker will get you nowhere since, the prices we see isnt the prices they have on their official records.

Interesting, would be nice to learn more about the metatrader inner works, as there appear to be a lot of issues about the pricing at MT. Of course these are matter that neither Mt nor brokers want to talk too much...
