Thread: ECN/STP brokers

  1. #1
    Hello,

Please can somebody recommend a regulated reputable (trully) non USA established MT4 ECN/STP broker that he or she's personally used and which accept any (e.g. scalper, hedging etc.) EA's. At least a minimum of $250 to start an account. If it isn't allowed on this forum to recommend those brokers please email me at with topic ``''.

Seriously, you are not going to get an ECN account for that small deposit. You may see $1000 min deposits for ECN accounts but to be severe, $5000 is far more likely to function as lowest serious entry point to get an ECN account.

With $250 simply stick to some micro account with a market maker. You aren't going to get anything else.

Yes, oakmonster is proper. From what I understand you need at least 5000$ for not getting money with ECN account.

Almost all ECN brökers I know are either US based, or do not have MT4.

MBTrading (ECN) has MT4, Oanda has MT4, ATC Brokers (ECN) has MT4.

I would not fret about STP or ECN requirement at unless one has 20k-50k to exchange with. Based on personal experience and experience of several others who've been in this industry for a while, ECN or MM willl not make a difference in the beginning. Becoming consistently profitable and understanding exactly why that goal was reached is much more important. That said, there are a few MM's that are dishonest.

The dynamics of ECN trading are slightly different than MM, but when someone places small orders under 1mio each ticket, there should be no difference in satisfying, assuming that you are with great, honest MM and/or good, reputable ECN.

London is the center of FX entire world, there are numerous good ECN or STP brokers that can connect you to various pools of liquidity, according to your taste and requirements. Marex, LCG, Baxtar Markets spring to my mind.

    Disagree.

What you'd need to worry about is the conflict of interest between you and your bröker. In other words, the very first thing you have ta worry about is if your bröker has in you losing any interest. I would say if you have just as small as $1000, go with an ECN as you're more inclined to avoid conflicts of interest than when investing with MM's.

The next thing you have ta worry about is regulation. You are generally more likely to discover an entirely unregulated bröker (or one with some bullshit Russian kind of law ) in the domain of MM's than that of ECN's.

These are some nice titles for certain, but you need a lot of cash to start with them. The guy seems like he wants to begin with $250 on MT4.

I have a tendency to believe MM world has developed quite a lot and buckets can be handled in various ways. While MM's prefer to maintain their items balanced, it does not necessarily mean they will go after your ceases or quote you incorrect prices just to push you into a losing trade. And of course that many authentic ECN's still have inner buckets, possibly to group trades before they are matched or simply to accommodate very tiny traders. But I agree that having zero conflict of interest between you and your broker is just one less thing to be concerned about. My center point was that I'm surprised how much emphasis there is on ECN/STP/MM differences like that was the motive traders are unprofitable. With 1000 dollars, your achievement will not be dependent on your broker, unless you choose one that's unregulated and is very likely to take your money and run. Then again, there are many good brokers out there, making me wonder why people wish to decide on offshore island brokers... maybe large leverage is exactly what they desire.

Agreed on regulations. Go with the authority that's well controlled, FSA, FINMA, CTFC, MAS.

Whilst understanding the gap between ECN and MM is vital, a novice will spend his time learning subject, plogy and money management. Zero pun intended into the $250 trader, of course.

There Isn't Any Russian ruler for Forex. Just for the Russian Stock Market. If you see a Russian Forex broker claiming to be regulated by Russia, you've been lied to.
