Thread: Who should be responsible for live server going down?

Now the link to the Live 03 host of IC Markets have been dropped over 1 hour.
What can we do to prevent this kind of risk or loss as MT4 users or Broker customers?
When I slept and didn't loe the problem timely, who should be responsible for my loss? How can I get back my loss?

RUBBISH! Perhaps you partner, my inbox does not have any such notifiion.

I am sorry but I don't have any sympathy for these guys. Any professional business would have been around to this promptly and informed clients directly and instantly taken steps to halt trading until the issue has been solved. So be it, as a result they would have gained respect from their clients, and retained clients and gained a couple more due to pure diligence, but what did they decide to do, if this meant a total stop to trading? Wait till clients began calling support staff, hell there may be ombudsman cases began as a result.

    Very badly managed, IMO.

I receive several emails from other brokers notifying beforehand about such things and what they intend to do in order to fight the issue at hand. This has been ongoing for some time together with IC, putting all clients financial well being at risk, depleting their own standing and clients confidence.

Good fortune, is all I will say.

This is standard from the T/C's in almost any FX broker.

You agree that the Company won't be liable in any way to you or for any other person in the event of force majeure, or to the action of any government or legal jurisdiction, or for the failure of or damage or destruction to its own computer progr, data or records or any part thereof, or for delays, losses, errors or omissions resulting from the failure or mismanagement of any telecommuniions or computer equipment or appliions.

Same here. . Waited 30 minutes to the support chat. When playing with the real cash, that is absolute disaster. I had lots of different signs that the are not the most reliable broker, but what happened now is past my tolerance level. Trading is difficult enough even with no broker cutting the cables between 13 and 14 gmt in the most liquid times !
