Thread: Who should be responsible for live server going down?

  1. #41
I am slightly perplexed, I mean do not brokers have several servers even when they return? It is disastrous if any broker gets the server down and whatever losses happen, it is their duty to pay. Otherwise I will make switch, although I will accept it if they cover and this does not happen again. I never have confronted such dilemma (thankfully) and I am currently using cTrader platform with Octafx, so far it is pretty good with no difficulty.

    From their site:

Services described on our site Aren't available in Estonia, Iraq, Latvia, Austria, North Korea , the UK and the USA.

    No support in my nation

Activtrades is additionally having live servers down for 10 minutes every few hours. Been with them for only 1 week and thinking of ditching them. So do not despair together with IC Markets, they are a lot more reliable than many retail brokers.

    Well explained.

I see your preferred broker is Pepperstone however they too suffer.

So now according to your opinion that retail forex broker is great, established in a well regulated environment, that guarantee they won't have a problem whatsoever and really actually have no complain at all (in forums or internet as a whole)?

Your data might help other men and women.

Trade with a broker who allows phone trading like mine does. When their platform get a live person to cope for you and in down you may phone 24 hrs each day to them. If it's because the servers come down, they do a manual hedge trade in an old school telephone account and I will sort it out. Where down but just because I was offline I've used this many times, not because their servers and it was simpler. You have to work if you are going to take this sport seriously. PM me if you need their name since I do not need to be regarded as advertising.

All retail platforms will have their problems, so lets not pretend they do not.
Even in interbank fx the affiliate platforms have had outages and their budgets are much greater.

The only solution is to have a couple of brokers.

    1. How did you receive that?
If it was through their MT4 platform yours must have been upward. Their difficulty is dissconnection why send such a message through MT4?
I am a customer of theirs and did not obtain this?

    2. Since about December they have had problems, just like if new ownership took place they WERE great they rank among the worst.

I exchanged with $30k (maybe not with IC Markets) and that I got telephone access to exchange and from what they told me that this support isn't for every account holder along with your broker I am guessing the minimum capital required must be $25k or past , yes?

I get your point by using phone accessibility.

However, the problem isn't merely the accessibility to the market but also the chart. I am not affected with this because I've accounts in various brokers and that I do not trade using time frame. I started an account with IC Markets to see what the spreads look like because forum members are saying this broker offer quite low spread.

IC Markets is more down than not. Untradable broker to be fair. God forbid should you wasnt fast enough to specify a SL as they dont have phone line to oversee your position.

Searching for something else. Any suggestions?
