Thread: IG Experiences?

  1. #1
    Hi,
I wish to get expertise from traders around IG for ECN acoounts!! What about withdraws for amounts that are large, is there some problem ?
Executions, spreads widening or canceling pending orders and platform freezing while large events (NFP)?

Can they provide trade signs for intraday?

Never used them myself but going by this connection they are down the bottom of the main brokers in terms of ratings. If I'm not mistaken all brokers will have wider spreads around big news events such as NFP so good fortune in finding a broker that doesn't.

I had a demo account with IG a while back and decided to provide the binarys a go, mainly the 'one touch' monthlys, so naturally I left some demo bets, only to find out they where pointless due to the demo account just lasting 14 days. Such is life.

I also have done for around 8 years without any problems and utilize IG in UK. Sure things go wrong around news releases as Mitch stated above.

IG do not have authentic ecn accounts. They're a market maker and all their goods market is made by them. They have a thing they call d.m.a (direct market access) however, these instruments are actually anything but direct to market orders. I.G does put an order in the underlying market and creates a cfd to market to you. The fee they charge instead of spread markers up is exorbitant, around double the commission cost to trade with most ecn brokers. I really don't know how they get a single trader to market this crap merchandise to. As a market maker, I have no problem with good regulated them and aggressive broker. I made money on their platform and had no problems. I wanted to trade there d.m.a Currency Market therefore that I was quite disappointed about exactly what it was that they were actually supplying

I wish I knew. Ive been searching for at least a year. I want the tight ecn spreads and the no conflict of interest but its hard to find one in which the trading prices after commission are less than that of fixed spread market manufacturers like IG. Im in Australia and now I've narrowed it down to FXopen au and I.C markets for value but I don't really trust either of them so I keep searching. I thought I had found a excellent cheap broker in interactive brokers cause there commission construction was so cheap but then I downloaded a demonion and the spreads are virtually repaired at a complete pip to get EUR/USD. Other brokers are charging $7.00 per lot round turn that is not competitive with even I.G markets changeable spread that sits at 0.8 during liquid times.

If You're not buying 10 pips per transaction like me, then the commission and spread Might Not Be as important. Here is a Fantastic list of all ecn brokers http://www.100forexbrokers.com/stp-ecn-brokers

    Good luck

I haven't attempted fxopen, currently I'm with IC Markets so far they've been good. I have experienced drop out but server capacity has improved within a week of it happening. I have applied prior to their cut and received the money the following day for bank account withdrawals and around three times for credit card refund. If your in Oz stay local negating o/s withdrawal charges, $7 per round trip is pretty regular, I believe you an get a discount with IC to $6 if your trading volume permits but honestly one pip in your path will cover the fee /- spread. Scalping ai not my match though...

Thanks for sharing your experience. This really helps me. Ive had the funds ready for 6 months but only have not managed to take the jump and fund an account. It seems as though that I checked out 50 brokers, 3 times over! IC were front runner but only because they did offer me a discount commission. Add that to your recommendation and I am pleased to go ahead.

When I vow that the account just like I have done many times, its gon nana be all your fault
