Thread: FX Vs Pepperstone? True STP/ECN Brokers? Whos better?

Hello guys I'm currently with a broker who I recently found out is a working desk broker (market maker) and not a legitimate ECN/STP broker. Looking back I can see that this is accurate with their SL search, spread manipulation and large slippage a times. I'm unhappy about this and I spent the weekend searching for a different broker. I've narrowed down my search to Pepperstone and Fx. Both advertise themselves as true ECN/STP brokers and supply account choices.

Fx offers a normal STP account along with also a Raw ECN account, and the two look pretty good to me. Pepperstone provides their Edge STP account and additionally a searchable spread ECN account. From what I could see both provides comparable STP and ECN accounts with comparable choices.

has a greater minimum deposit ($500) but costs less commission ($3) in their ECN accounts. Pepperstone has a lower minimum deposit ($200) but has a slightly higher commission ($3.5) in their ECN account. The two STP accounts seem exactly the same. My questions is for all those who have accounts with either of these brokers, what your comments on these? Positive or negative?

Is the standard STP account good sufficient or would the uncooked ECN account be a better choice? Which broker would you opt for?

    Thanks I appreciate your comments.

Most retail brokers are market manufacturers one way or another.
There is not any way to prevent it I am afraid.

Select a broker with a fantastic reputation and make sure they use good banks for their customers deposit.
If the bank goes into default it doesn't matter if you take advantage of a market maker or not.
From those 2 I would pick Pepperstone, only because I have no personal experience with .

Ps. Brokers really don't take care of little accounts and stop running for a few bucks, discontinue running is a natural process in trading because stops always are in logical areas and banks need the liquidity from those ceases to get in and out of the large ranks.
Slippage and bad performance on the other hand can be a sign of utilizing a bad broker.

I have experience with both brokers. I'd favor over Pepperstone. However GoMarkets Leaves both for dead.

Thank you for your comments. I have more research to do and I am also leaning towards Pepperstone although both look like the two alternatives. Thanks.

Thank you for your reply. What's in choosing over Pepperstone your reasoning?

I will have a peek at GoMarkets, '' I have not heard of these before. Do they supply true ECN/STP accounts?

GoMarkets is market manufacturer, so it's rather terrible choice. Try out Pepperstone and IC Markets, honest ECN brokers .

Pepper and ic are darn good....

Pepper is now uk licensed as well.

Constantly getting great fills together, ic is not bad either.

I have not found this to be a problem. Low slippage. Tight spreads, no SL hunting, What more can you ask for. ?
