Thread: Swap Rates

  1. #1
I am sure this has been discussed many times but will we gather side by side comparisons for exchange rates on various brokers?

It appears that most of the brokers are hush-hush about the rates.

I would like to invest in a specific pair to get a REAALY long time (over a year and a half). And I am not pleased with the exchange rates I'd get with my current broker.

Thanks in advance I am sure this can become a very useful thread for each of us newbies.

FXDD has the better swap as far as I know but Oanda pays swap hour...

Additionally better swap doesnt mean It's Ideal for you personally

For example high positive swap means large Unfavorable swap

The companies that are hush-hush in their rates really are the way because of this. It's frequently because their rates are atrocious, if not completely backwards/fraudulent (i.e. adverse swap on carry longs, watch Dukascopy and MBT/EFX as the primary perpetrators).

A firm's swap rates must be clearly listed on their website, and it's a pity so few have adhered to integrity of http://individuals.interactivebroker...?ib_entity=llc and https://fx2.oanda.com/user/interee.html in this department (both of whom possess the most fair rates in the whole retail world).

If you're planning on long duration, you should think of the brokers' longevity.
Heck many traders moved to 1World due to the better swaps simply to learn that their trades were negated and detained and accused of taking benefit of the broker. They started with real cash and now ended up playing virtual cash (ie, cannot withdraw)!

For medium to long word carry, I goes with FXCM, IBFX. They may suck execution, but for carry and longevity, they're ok.

I would agree with BK about FXCM, never used IBFX....Swaps are listed right on the trade platform at FXCM. Oanda..swaps will change daily as interest rates are exchanged.... Oanda pays daily interest on your balance. I have found that many MT4 type brokers cover horrible.
    Hope that helps...

Due to the new volatile action in the worldwide credit markets and the affects this has had at banks and financial institutions, including those who Interbank FX has relationships together; you will notice that the changes in the rates are more volatile than usual.
