Thread: Grids Without Greed

    Hi All,

I'm pretty much aware when I mention grid trading, most folks with turn the dial to another topic super fast.

Now that you haven't done that yet, lemmi make it short. I have been trading grids for a little while and I understand that the trend is the very best friend, but if it turns, it becomes the worst enemy. It's extremely profitable to trade grids when the fad is'correct' but if it turns, you have ta escape (concede defeat) and ride on the opposite direction or wait for another opportunity. In the meantime, if you had accumulated some'erroneous trades' in the turn of this tendency, you MUST decide on how to manage them the drawdown will start to accumulate. That is the trading IMHO that is key to grid.

Now, what if you get started managing these'erroneous trades' early enough until they accumulate? And as soon as they achieve a certain threshold, you lock them up with counter trades (of opposite directions) until the tendency favors them . . Or till they are managed by you . . Or till you decide to do away with them altogether and concede this reduction? Or perhaps set that if they will be pending that they get shut and you move on. .

I stumbled on a sure EA and I have been performing modifiions on exactly the exact same but am not an expert in coding, which means you are going to find it rubbish or funny. It doesn't have the characteristics to manage the trades or to lock them out, also it's mistakes in the lot size calculations to the orders included after the initial order, and it is simple and plain. I develop a nice grid trading system that could let you sleep soundly through the night without waking up in panic mode and could come together.

I have attached the EA here and as is the case with all grid progr, it might work better on the major pairs like GBPUSD that don't fad in one direction forever, though we could also loe a fix to accommodate all types of trading situations and all pairs. . They tend to need some good balance on your account to er for drawdowns but again we ought to discover a means and have it operate in tiny accounts .

Am sure there are better EAs which are out there that are more sophistied than this one, or who have all, some, or better of these attributes, let's feel free to talk about them and combine all their theories here that we develop a nice output.

Please feel free to participate, let's work together as a team, let's focus on the advantages and work to the good of this project/ venture. I hope that you find this interesting, but if not, am really sorry for wasting your time.

Lastly, let's have fun!! Thank you.

Here is an idea to make the grid trading as safe as possible.

Grid Size = Average Daily Range (30 days) / 2 (Large Grid)
Lot Size Growth = The necessary lotsize to reach - Sqrt(number of trades available ) * Initial trade Expected Profit in Dollars

With this method the lotsize isn't multiplied with a predetermined ratio, instead it is determined by the risk. The more transactions you put the less expected profit. But with every exit the profit will always be positive.
This method will reduce the DD drastically and consequently reducing the possibility of going bust.

    Opinions and thoughts please...
