scott is there a way to do this? I dont believe we could do a 1-5 start score. It just needs to be what is your preferred book kinda thing. But you may set up the poll so you can have several selections, maybe that can help.

Trading In The Global Currency Markets. Second Edition

I liked this book very much, a good over view as well as a refresher on TA and FA.

and Elder's publication were my very first to read.
Quite inspiring for me are the trading books from Daryl Guppy.

On a different note, these books are pretty costly. Any of you care to turn lose of some? Unless of course you use them as reference.I be pleased to pay. Actually, if the honour system worked, we can cycle the books through us...(afternoon dreaming here).
I could begin with Rob Bookers book I just got finished studying, if anybody wants it...

    Here's a start to a compiled list:

Market Wizard - Jack D Schwager
Come Into my trading Area - Dr Alexander Elder
Trading for a living - Dr Alexander Elder
The New Market Wizard - Jack D. Schwager
Handbook of Key Economic Indiors - R Mark Rogers
Assessing the Trade - John F Carter
The Encyclopedia of Trading Strategies - Jeffrey Owen Katz
Trading Systems and Methods - Perry J. Kaufman
Profitable Candlestick Trading - Stephen W Bigalow
Trade Your Way to Financial Freedom - Van K Tharp
High Probability trading - Marcel Link
Technical Analysis Appliions In The Global Currency Markets Second Edition - Cornelias Luca
Trading the Fundamentals - Michael P Niemira
Mathematical Methods for Foreign Exchange - Alexander Lipton
    Inflation Targeting - bernanke
Trading In The Global Currency Markets - Cornelius Luca
Trading Chaos Maximize profits - Bill and Justine Willi

I think the best way to do this Is to agorise the books in a star rating Rod. The above list covers different locations and levels therefore if we could compile a poll folks could just go to the start of the thread and look at best novels.

Even better if you could link a bookmark from the pole to threads regarding the books and forum members reviews.

    Keep them coming.

    Cheers

Everything on MarkJ's list is reccommended reading, however I'll add several more that seam to have escaped the listing.

Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets by John Murphy, a excellent solid intro into TA, although nothing in it that cant be obtained for free from 1001 websites but a nice reference to dip into occassionally.

Reminiscences of a stock operator, by Livermore and Day Traders Bible by Richard Wyckhoff are two novels that initially baffled the hell out of me, however make an increasing number of sense as time passes.

I rather enjoy The Logical Trader by Mark Fischer, I bought it hoping he would reveal the holy grail, which of course he dosnt but some fantastic content non the less.

Mentioned earlier but anything by Perry Kaufman for people interested in creating automated trading egies. The publication by Chuck Le Beau is also a pretty gentle intoduction within this area

The Trading Game by Ryan Jones is a great starting point for anyone interested in cash management, and that I believe its available for free from his site.

Dynamic Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets by Phillipe Cahen is a nice book also, but you might have to learn french to read it, so a great one for your personal development, learn a new vocabulary, and learn a strong robust trading strategy for a bonus.

For anyone just starting out, there really are only 3 books required, Alex Elders come into my trading room, both of the jack schwager novels and Trading in the Zone by Mark Douglas. Everything you will ever need is contained within those few thousand pages. Most will squander thousands of dollars on ebooks and courses and mentors earlier that truth finally dawns

On reflection, Id say that the most essential information is likely contained within two or three important sentances in chapter 7 of Douglas's publication, the remaining 99.99% of content serves no purpose other to baffle, confuse and conceal the relevant detail. There used to be a few interviews with Mark Douglas available on the woodies CCI site, which are likely well worth listening to for anyone who maybe hasnt read the book.

Off to Amazon to check out some of the reccommendations LOL

    regards
    raz

If You're a Complete newbie like I was, I Urge these two:

Day Trading the Currency Market by Kathy Lien
Technical Analysis for Dummies by Barbara Rockefeller

Neither of them will Enable You to develop a trading methodology, but they help explain Forex Markets and Also the difference between Technical Analysis and Fundamental Analysis.

    Also:
Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets by John Murphy
Elliot Wave Principle by A.J. Frost and Robert Prechter

Both aren't for the faint of heart.

    Jeffrey
