Thread: How Do You Trade On a US Holiday?

  1. #11
You take it and go ahead if you want to take a day away on a holiday. No players in the market would care about it.

The issue is what sort of egy for active traders would be effective when among the countries (US, UK, Euro, and Japan) is closed for a holiday.

For example, when a price level is relatively high with less quantity and no cues to build up your position, moving brief seems more powerful, etc.. As some other players try to overreach you, or maybe this does not work.

Well, I exchange on a somewhat bigger timeframe... if I get a signal I can take it. Scalpers / daytraders may stay away from the markets, though, if the pair I am watching is going up... gotta follow it.

We have a very long weekend here - 3 days holidays

I go across to Germany and proceed short EUR/Rib Burgers at McDonalds. McDonalds in Germany would be the only real place. Anyone tried this?

I know a number of my British friends are going to brief the GBP/French wine. They are going to receive a bargain across the Channel.

Thus UK or US vacations, one can still exchange and probably enjoy oneself.

    Happy vacations trading everybody

My goal here is not to prove you guys wrong. I expect it's going to be well worth it, although this took me 15 minutes to setup.

Look at the first chart of IBFX below the name, You dont.jpg. You will realize 26th December Tuesday that is next and 22nd December. There was no price data for December as it was a major holiday.

Look at the second chart called, you now see.jpg. It reveals December price data. You can obviously see that, a person quietly made a killing on the market by buying hefty lots of gbpusd and transferring it up 163 pips and then took profit and brought the price back where it had been the day. Therefore, when price opened up on the 26th, everything seemed normal.

My point is that there are large players on the market, likely based offshore, that create the most out of a silent market when competition is low.

    Amazing huh?

    Hope that helps!

Look in the second chart called, now you see.jpg. It reveals 25th December price data. You can clearly see that, somebody quietly made a killing on the market by buying heavy lots of gbpusd and moving it up 163 pips and took profit and brought the price right back where it was that the day. So, when price opened on the 26th, everything seemed normal.

My point is that there are big players out there, likely based offshore, that create the most from a quiet market when competition is low.

With such low liquidity... I wonder just how the significant participant can make big profit.
Maybe the price moved up due to enormous pre-christmas short covering.

And how can you explain its retrace back into the December price level?

Amylase, What world are you living in? Do you see a lot of market activity? No? Wonder why?

Thanksgiving is also among the exceptions for US vacations. It can generally observe some moves that are excellent. But if markets have been shut do not expect much.
