Thread: TrendLine Alpha indior

I did not like that the trendline indiors currently available on FF, and so I wrote my own.

Trendlines are very subjective and any 2 traders may draw them differently. This indior currently operates by looking back 'x' amount of bars for your high/low and then linking to the next appropriate point to create a trendline.

The indior has around 4 trendlines each moving back a user specified variety of bars looking for the high/low. Each of these can be turned off or on.

There is also an option to use the close instead of the high/lows.

Here is a fast idea of what it looks like:

If anyone has any ideas on how it can be improved further then please give the code or ideas.

    Complete source code revealed.

With lines in the chart, it'd be great if the depth can be modified for every line.

    Thanks for the indi.
    Best Pip Wishes!

A large idea. I've upgraded the indior in place 1 with the new version 1.3 with the option of styles and widths for each trendline.

I've just discovered the styles were not working properly on the low trendlines. Currently corrected in v1.4 in post 1.

Nice instrument but useless (for me) as some other egy based in addition to wicks (HL) won't generate consistent results. Its determined by brokers pricing and some other fad on any stage will have lengthy and surprising wicks/tails inducing false lines generated from such instrument. They look good to exchange when you see them previously but actual results will tell quite the different story. Wicks' hint is your holy grail in my opinion if consistency is the title of the game.

With respect from one fool to another :-)
