Thread: Why the rich could not become richer?

I've always been wondering why the rich could not become richer. Take Warren Buffett for example. Since he is making more than 20% yearly, technically he could double his money in every 3 years. But this doesn't occur. If he's 10 billion, then it takes him just a little longer than 10 years for him to make 100 billion. But why did not this occur?

Not All High Net Worth People Are GREEDY B******S. There are many that enjoy the rewards Philanthropy brings.

Perhaps before submitting some bullcrap, just take 5 minutes visit berkshire hathaway website and see the 4th page of the annual report. He made exactly 19.7% compounded annually from 1965 to 2013. Nonetheless, in the last 4 years he made and average of 12.55%.

So nowhere was stated that he makes over 20% yearly. Second, if you ever watch any news at all, you would know that he is giving away a lot of money. If he didn't do so, then he would still grow his riches by the exact same percent as berkshire hathaway.

And my last point: if you develop money at a 20% yield, you would need 4 decades, not 3 years to double your money.

Clearly the really rich still grow their resources, the rate at which they do it only depends on which they wanna do with the money. And of course making money in itself with no deeper purpose is pretty shallow. At least buffett belongs to the not so shallow types of ultra-rich.

Not all money is in liquid resources. A massive part of it may be tied up in real estate and, well, real estate. Additionally they may sit on certain things like gold and diamonds, etc, since they are considered safe bets just in case.

Only from observation, and no facts, I'd say Bill Gates could grow his account because he sells a consumable product. He can give away a lot of money.

Warren Buffet on the other hand would be a buy and hold trader. So unless his stocks are making profit, and he makes the decision to sell them, his account is stagnant.

Most of them are ptic but they channel their energy into making money instead of murder.

Is it due to the liquidity problem where they weren't able to receive their orders filled? Maybe this is the problem.

Two of the richest individuals in the world, Warren Buffet Bill Gates, are two of the best individuals in the world. Do a bit of research on which they are doing with their wealth before group them with other greedy wealthy individuals.
