Thread: Better time for trading

I have been trading forex for couple months. I'm not sure what is the ideal time for me to trade. I reside in hawaii that is -10:00 GMT. I guess I can trade during the opening of European session(around 3pm EST to 5pm EST, 10pm to 12pm Hawaiian time) or should I awaken in the center of night(8pm EST to 11pm EST, 3am to 6am Hawaiian Time) to trade during European US overlap. I have a full time job so I do not wish to keep up the whole time.

Eastmaels, according to your link, it seems like the ideal time for trading is around 10am EST.. I guess I will wake up 5am my time to exchange.

I believe I might have sounded trite in my response. .
I was sort of in a rush when I posted that. . sorry. .

But anyway, I'm no expert so I'm not positive whether it's good to follow my advice. .
But if you want my view, I guess it's going to be 8AM-12NN EST..
And that's if you're going to be trading lower time frames...

    Hope that this helps.

I live in Hawaii too. I open my charts from 8pm - 8am Sunday - Thursday. The EUR opens at 10pm Hawaii Time (based on Daylight Savings) and the USD opens at 3am. I find that the movements in each session's 1st 3-5 hours . I do not like staying up all night also and perfer to sleep so I put my charting appliions to text message alert me and play an audible alarm onto particular egy indiors. Hope this helps.

Here's a market hours page that may give you a few insights....hope it helps.
These would be the majors so that the liquidity is your greatest at nowadays.
Additionally, this is a real time tool and can be set for your time.

I wished I lived in Hawaii....yes, since I love to browse, but more importantly because of the time difference. Many of us who reside in the est zone prefer to trade the launching of the London market session since there is quite good predictable price motion. This means we are up at 3am est (or before) if we want to participate. Ah....but you can begin in the late night (a fantastic time for many). My suggestion: appreciate the time difference and make some pips at a time when a few of us are focusing on our second pot of coffee.

It is dependent upon what sort of market that you would like to trade. If you want a quiet market, you're going to want to trade the japanese session which begins around 7PM eastern time. If you want volatility, then you are going to want to trade if the London, Euro, and US markets are open in the exact same moment. This would be from around 7AM to 11AM eastern time.
